Spring into Action
Spring fever anyone? I know I sure got the feeling of restlessness after a long winter, especially with January feeling like 500 days. Not to mention our current situation of being confined to our homes, but Spring is always a time of year where suddenly the world awakens again from a long nap and becomes alive!
Let’s get real the first warm, sunny day after a long restless Winter, I will be the first to admit I spring into action, like one happy bunny, with all my home gardening, organization, and home decor. However, as much as I love spring-time in North Texas, the wildflowers, the cheesy family photos with the bluebonnets, the BBQs, and who can forget cedar allergies, as well as the Texas storms that come roaring in like lions. So why am I confessing my love of home DIY to you during spring time, because out of four months of the year we have the highest percentage of getting hit with large hail, or tornado like storms in North Texas. Sounds funny to say, but if I had never got into this industry I honestly would never have realized how your roof plays such an important role in your home’s exterior.
So let me begin, because I was once “that” person to never call, because I thought hell; “it wasn’t that bad of a storm, hail wasn’t that big, I can’t see any leaks, my car looks fine so the house should be fine, it just going to cost me more to call my insurance company.”
Believe me, I had all the excuses in the book to not call my insurance or roofer, and also because I wasn’t truly educated. Once I started working in construction it became more evident how your roof adds significant value to your property not just elevating your curb appeal, but true property value as well. So a lesson learned, don’t ever think that your roofing system doesn’t play a role in your home design, it plays a HUGE role. Here are some tips on when to actually call a Roofer, aka yours truly.
TIP #1 Size Doesn’t Matter (get your mind out of the gutters all)
When a storm hits, the size of hail doesn’t always matter, if wind is over 60+ 3 tab shingles can lift and break the seal of shingles.
TIP # 2 What is Jarred Wearing? (PS. it's always Khaki pants )
Just so you know it does cost you anything for your insurance to come out and inspect the property after the storm! ZERO!
TIP #3 Don’t wait to make that call at 3am (not sure the relationship will end well)
Just because you may not be able to visually see the damage, does not mean it does not exist, again don't wait to call. Start by calling us, just maybe limit the 3am’s, and we will inspect your roof for zero obligation.
